I have a problem with my Ford Escort Diesel 55 Van N reg 1996 non turbo its done 90000 I have change the glow plugs, heater relay, diesel heater relay, pump primer plus fuel filter all new parts. When I start the van in the morning its start well but is very lumpy and sort of misfires this is solved by giving it a quick rev, but even when warm if I start the van without either keeping my foot on the pendle or giving it a quick rev its lumpy on ilde is there a air leak problem or with the diesel injector pump? Should I change the fuel pipe bewteen the primer pump and injector pump with a non return valve I think fuel might be running back to the fuel tank would this be the problem or is there other issues? Has anyone had this problem?

Could be sticky injectors mate, may be worth getting them tested before you start playing with the pump!
