Featured Replies

Hi i have a 2003 ka with a duratec engine i fitted a new o2 sensor a couple of weeks ago and all seemed fine now it has started missing and has no power at low revs and then all of a sudden revs come and you have full power then it goes again mil light came on gave me a code of p0172 System Too Rich Bank 1,and i get a p0030 heated oxygen sensor heater control circuit bank 1 sensor 1 do you think a new sensor could have gone faulty or could it be something else some advice please

was it a ford supplied sensor that was fitted as some after market sensors are not up to the job

was it a ford supplied sensor that was fitted as some after market sensors are not up to the job

It was an aftermarket one i tested the 2 white wires on it and it,s got continuity? open loop? if i unplug the sensor the car runs fine i used an aftermarket one before on a friends car and had no problems

I done a little more searching around on the net and decided to put the old o2 sensor back in car, it run normal no problems then it threw up the code p0030 heated oxygen sensor heater control circuit bank 1 sensor 1. After a bit more of searching around someone mentioned don't buy a new sensor with this problem look for a blown fuse checked the fusebox all OK. So i thought to myself there's a hidden fuse box, Just a little check for people with the digital mileage when you turn your ignition on does it take about 20 seconds to come on if it does this is part of the problem as it uses the same fuse.So back to the hidden fuses undo 2 PHILLIPS screws above the fusebox and to the left and the right of the fuses there is a clip either side release them and drop the fusebox down and you will find some more fuses it is a red 10a check them all while your there.I put a new one in turned ignition on clocks and fuel gauge worked straight away code hasn't come back up yet so hopefully this is the cure to the o2 sensor problems Hope this will help other people with this problem :D
