lublin
If it were mine I would: use injector cleaner, look for damp areas (diesel) along the fuel lines near the pump/injectors because fuel out = air in and you might be pumping the air through after it's been stopped a while, also have the nuts on the pump been spannered i.e. has someone altered the pump timing or been messing with things, does it smoke whilst driving indicating either burning oil (worn engine) or worn injectors, how does it run as, if the valve clearances have gone tight it will have reduced compression and so poor starting and running, does it turnover fast enough or is there a problem with this (could be a few things)?
