Imobiliser ?

Featured Replies

Hello all

Went to look at/buy a car today 2006 1.8Zetec, nice car., all seems Ok

Whilst looking around the car I opened the boot and set off the alarm.

Quickly went to the ignition switched car ignition switch to first position and then off, and alarm stopped

However when I went to start the car, it would not start, the instrument panel instuments flashed witha clicking noise ,

and a red light was flashing (I think) to the right of the clock

The owner was at work and his wife was not sure about operation.

Over the phone the owner seemed to think it was the battery, but I am thinking imobiliser issue

Can anyone shed any light ?

Cheers

Were the doors locked when you opened the boot? The alarm goes off on our SportKA if the boot is opened without unlocking the doors first (as it is supposed to).

Did you re-lock the car and unlock it before trying to start it?
