The wife got home last Wednesday saying the engine was making an awful din. It was never the quietest of engines and after listening to it thought it may be the Auxilliary belt tensioner. The car is on 73k miles and is a 53 Plate.

Took into Motomotion on Saturday so they could look at it today. I havent got the time these days to do it myself. Anyway, it turns out the Water Pump is knackered, so am having that replaced as well as the drive belt.

Guess we were lucky, as it could of been nasty if the belt had gone.

Well thats a new one on me. I didn't realise that the watyer pump on these is not connected to any belts. Anyway, Im £173 down, but at least the car is quieter than its ever been.
