Hi. I want another spare key for my car. I have identified the exact fob I need and I propose to buy a used one from Ebay with a new blade.

I understand that there are three aspects to making a key work with your car: the blade has to fit, the remote control part needs to be re-programmed and the immobiliser part needs to be coded. I have the 2 keys necessary to do the programming/coding.

From the Ford manual it looks like re-programming the 'remote' bit should be OK.

The Ford manual also gives instructions for Coding a new key so that it will set/unset the immobiliser - my question is this: will this immobiliser coding work with a used key?
