Sound System!

Featured Replies

I have got a 97 escort 1.4 and I have fitted an aftermarket cd player and I have noticed that when I cut the engine it cuts the power completely from the stereo, as a result of this I lose all of speaker presets radio stations that are stored which is quite annoying!

I was wondering if there was anyway of stopping this from happening?I

Thanks

it sounds like the live feed from the stereo is not connected up right, ( normally yellow i think in colour) which helps keeps all presets stored,

if the block u have is not the right 1, then find a live feed, ie the cig lighter and connected it that,

Swap the yellow and red wires around.

Think yellow has to go to red, and red has to go to yellow.

Swap the yellow and red wires around.

Think yellow has to go to red, and red has to go to yellow.

I have already tried and does not seem to have cured it! It's quite a pain in the !Removed! having to reset my speakers every time and re-tuning my radio stations!

I think it is probably what mr Pompey said but I don't really want to be cutting wires left right and centre and my car doesnt start lmao!

When I used this cd player in my Corsa I had to switch the wires to keep the memory but then it worked...and when I switched the engine off the red light on the front of the cd player kept flashing but in my escort the red ligh stops flashed when the engine or electrics are switched off!

Yes i had the same.

I took the stereo out of my Escort and put it into the Corsa. Had to swap the red and yellow wires. Now i have put it into my RS2000 i have had to swap the wires again.
