Mondeo 2.5T Engine Failure

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I was driving down the motorway to work this morning in my 2.5T Mondeo when white smoke started pouring out the exhaust and then the engine cut out. I then had to get pushed into a safe position by the police. When I opened the bonnet, the radiator hose had popped off and there was a burning smell. After topping up the coolant and re-connecting the hose, the engine wouldn't start again and had to get towed away by the AA. I'm gutted to say the least, especially as the warranty has only recently ran out.

Any suggestions as to what the problem could be? It seems quite major, the car is coming up for 50,000 miles.

Thanks,

zetec-x

think ur find white smoke normally means head gasket has gone,

not helped by the water pipe comeing off, if this was the case the engine temp should have gone into the red, which u should have seen,!!!!
