any luck with this one? have you tried yellow pages? there is a few places in fife that will do it. Sorry just to point out to you, cylinder head skimmed not head gasket skimmed.

A quick check on Yell.com came up with > cylinder head skimming

I work/live in Edinburgh and would think one of the garages down Leith walk would know. ( down on the right hand side i think one or two streets up from Junction Street )

Are you sure it needs skimming. It would depend on how long you drove the car without coolant? If you can place the head on a true surface you can check it with feeler guage for warping and distortion. Could save a few quid and alot of hassle. I have replaced over 20 head gaskets in my time and only had to skim the head on 3 occassions.
