Hey, i drive a 2001 KA 1.3. It has central locking but not remote central locking. The problem is to open the car you have to use the passenger side lock to unlock all the doors. You can then open and close the drivers door no problem. The only problem is you cant lock or unlock the drivers door with the key. The central locking i assume works fine because by using the passenger side lock it unlocks the drivers door. Is the problem then with the locking mechanism? Is this a common problem and is it a big/expensive problem to fix? Also if anyone has fixed this problem could they tell me how? Thanks for your help!

probably only a lock replacement job,ford locks are known for this.

I used to have this problem with my Ford Fiesta - plus the electric windows stopped working. The best thing was to use WD40!! It worked wonders ad remedied my problem.

Worth a try before buying new locks or asking a Ford garage to look at it.
