Newbie Help - Genuine Mk 2 Roof Bars

Featured Replies

HI there,

Just joined and first post so please be gentle.

I just got some used Genuine Mk2 roof bars from ebay. Went to put them on and it would appear that one of them seems a little higher than the other. I thought this might be to do with the shape of the roof line.

I put the front one on fine and it fitted like a glove however when trying to put the rear on it was to short (from n/s to o/f). I even tried loosening the bolt under the bar to allow a little more width.

I could just about pull the foot out enough to meet the mounting point but they did not look level.

Just wondering if anyone knew if there was a slight height difference between the two or have I got them the wrong way round. Or even just an odd pair!

Cheers,

Marc
