Hi, can anyone help please? When I turn my headlights on, the light on the dash does not come on... I've checked the 10a fuses, but they're fine. Also... I'm sure I keep seeitheir flicker now and then while I'm driving... Any ideas?

My Mum's partner has a very similar problem with his 2001 Focus Estate. At first I thought fuse so I checked the wiring diagram in a Haynes manual to find the fuse number (it's also marked on his fuse box by diagram) and as I thought the fuse had blown. I replaced it with a new one and a week or so ago he phones me saying it stopped working again. I had another look and the fuse is fine, and I've even gone through every fuse related to lighting.

I was wondering if there was a relay at fault? This is like the blind leading the blind lol, but what I'll do is check the relay for the lights. Thing is I can hear the click when I switch on the headlights, which is the sound of the relay working! I guess if it's not a relay/fuse issue the only way to find out is take the speedo out and check bulb/wiring behind that. Obviously keeping an eye out not to damage the speedo cable etc. (If it has a speedo cable, it might be operated from the wheel speed sensors for the ABS on his particular car)...
