Anyone Got Lumbar Support In Their Fiesta

Featured Replies

Hi, I have been on here before, but not for a few weeks...

does anyone have lumbar support on their fiesta, and if so, do you find it makes a difference? i am just wondering if the fact it is there, makes the back of the seat firmer at all, even if you dont have the lumbar fully out?

i have finally found a position in my fiesta that is a bit better for me - I was suffering neck issues.. but still notice that the back of the seat is not that firm for me. The back supports you can buy, tend to be too thick and push me forward.

so.. I was thinking of getting the lumbar support added to the seat (by Ford), but havent seen one anywhere that I can sit in and try...

shame they dont do it as an option across the range

in the meantime I have been test driving other cars to see if maybe the route is to change my car -which would be such a shame

any comments, gratefully received

i have lumbar on my fiesta (mk7 with leather upgrade)

i find it great, i had quite a serious motorbike accident in 2008 so the support it gives me on long journeys makes all the difference, took me a few drives to set it up where i want it, but now all done its great.

my car will be at Ford fair is you are about, welcome for a sit in car

ah thank you but unlikely - glad yours is helping anyway.

when you say took you a few drives to set it up where you want, you mean the actual amount of lumbar? or the seat in general?

when i was buying my car - the dealer had a kuga with lumbar which i sat in, or might have been focus, anyway.... it didnt seem to have much of a varying amount of lumbar when at highest or lowest support bit. the dealer said the bit that goes in the seat is quite flexible, so he was unsure how much difference it would give - which was nice and honest of him, rather than trying to just sell me something i suppose

i used to have a mazda which had it, but to be honest i had it on virtually non existent as i found the fact that it was even there, was firm enough.

my back gets pretty sore after 30-40 min constant driving, so just kept playing with it and driving untill the pain eased off, picked the car up new, so had all variables to play with. height, tilt, distance from pedals. now i have it where it suits me i have driven just under an hour and half without any problems :) the test will be saturday when i go to silverston tho. will give you feedback when i return

good luck with that and yes, please let me know how you got on!

backs eh.....

btw have you looked at the back friend, its a seat that sits on your car seat and is supportive - i did, but i think still too thick for me and i probably would only need the back part, which is an expensive way to buy it... shame they dont seem to do just those bits

Never heard of it before, but if I have any problems with this journey I will look into it :) thanks

Journey went great, 740miles in 2 days. No sore back even after 3hours solid driving. Sore on way back up but that mite have been to do with horrible camping spot down there haha, my seats are starting to break in now aswell, all is good :)
