I have an ever so slight squeak coming from my engine bay. I am guessing its coming from the belt system, is it possible to grease/oil the system up?

Its like almost impossible to hear, i just hate noises  basically to hear it, i have both windows down, radio and fans off.

It squeaks all the time, stationery and when moving but seems to disappear once the car has warmed up.

i know the feeling, and when you try to tell someone 'listen' they look at you like your alien

its possibly a tensioner or bearing then? probably impossible to diagnose without actually being there.

has it just started or has it been happening for a while?

Its just started over the last few days. If its any help i doubt anything has been replaced before i had the car and its done 63000 ish now. I opened the the bonnet and had a listen the other day and would say its def the belt area .....

I am going to give the fan belt a spray with some WD40, see if that does the trick.

Dont spray that on the belt :o that will make it slip

if your going to put anything on the belt use talcum powder.

A thought that might be the case, but a so called mechanic said to "lager" it on .....

Not this time

sounds like 'you know who's' kind of advice

wd40 will damage the belt, and more than likely cause it to slip. I suspect your problem lies with one of the bearings and not the belt.
