Mk6 Fiesta Noise

Featured Replies

Hi all, any help appreciated! There's a noise as I'm driving which is hard to describe bit it sounds like something rubbing/grinding like vrub..vrub..vrub and so on. I've fitted new brakes but no better, checked gearbox oil and was low so topped up and put a treatment in also, it seemed to get quieter but has got louder again. Even with the clutch in noise is present! Any ideas?

jack the car up and spin the wheels by hand to see if you hear the noise, it could be a cv joint or a drive shaft wearing.

Thanks, I should have tried this while it was on the ramp :) I hope its nothing too serious!!

Sounds like it could be a Constant Velocity joint wearing, or even just something hitting the tyre or brake disk when the car is moving.

It doesn't sound like any kind of gear box issue at all though, so don't worry about that! Neither does it sound like a clutch issue.

Hi what speed do you get the noise at? Ive a focus which makes that noise at 60-70 mph, can't seem to find where its coming from.
