Ka Cooling System

Featured Replies

Hi

After the issue with the HCV on our KA, during which time we had to top up the cooling system with nearly six (6) litres of water, there can't be much antifreeze left in the cooling system, what is the easiest way to get antifreeze into the system before the freezing weather arrives?

I was thinking of trying to syphon water out of system but I don't have a syphon kit. I could temporarily remove the bottom hose from the radiator to let water out and then top up with antifreeze. If I do that, I could end up with air in the system and this could cause more problems?

BTW, how much water does the KA cooling system hold?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards, BHeart

I would pull the bottom hose off, give it a flush with a hose and then refill with a ready mixed coolant. If you fill it up slowly making sure you squeeze pipes as you fill it should be ok.

where in scotland are you located?
