Hi All,

Does anyne know who has an old WDS system as the New IDS system will not programme

my Ford Focus 2001(Y).

It needs a new steering wheel alignment sensor. Ford cannot fix it.

Any help would be appreicated.

    im sure a proper ford dealership can fix this for you... sounds like the place you tried are champions at games with customers...head elsewhere. never have i heard of a new system not working with an older car...they build in compatablity into the new system for this.

    The OP is correct on this. WDS functionality is not 100% available on IDS to my knowledge. But as the system is quite old now, most dealers will have gotten rid of the units as they are not small. ( think the size of a stand alone cash point ). I know of one dealer with it but im not sure where your based.

    i stand corrected. peugeot and citroen use the same device and have built in backwards compatability with their older cars...they just change the end connector to an 18 pin instead of the OBDII connector.

    oh well you live and learn as everyday is a school day.
