Emissions Test Failure

Featured Replies

My neighbour is having problems getting his 1.6 petrol Escort through the MOT emissions test.

There are no air leaks under the bonnet or the exhaust and the air filter looks good

The LAMBDA sensor has been replaced

The engine sounds fine most of the time but sometimes misses for some unknown reason.

Any suggestions of what to look at next.

He also has a box of tricks to test engine parameters which plugs into a three pin connector under the bonnet but he can't find where the connector is located - a reminder for him please :)
