Mk2 Focus - Fascia Adaptor To Install Single-Din Head Unit

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm a new owner of a Mk2 (2006) Focus TDCi Zetec (Climate) - I've had the car just over a week, and I love it.

I want to connect my iPod Classic, but still have full control of all iPod functions from the head unit, not just connect via the 3.5mm headphone socket into an AUX port and have to choose tracks from the iPod itself.

Therefore I'm going to connect the head unit I had in my previous car; a Kenwood KDC-W6541 which has full iPod control

So my question is: does anybody have a recommendation for a fascia adaptor to fit a single-DIN head unit into the double-DIN Focus dash?

I've looked online and there are a few options at a variety of prices, but I'd like something that doesn't look too 'aftermarket' or tatty, so pics of yours would be appreciated.

Also, can anybody suggest the correct adaptor to allow me to use the stalk controls to skip track etc.

Thanks in advance.

A quick look online throws up this one, available in Halfords ... << Link >>

Looks like you get a cubby hole below the stereo

Don't know if you have an iPod holder, but you could look at something like this ... << Link >>

- Not looked at it in detail, but check and see if it would be able to mount in the cubby hole and bend to the right shape, then you wouldn't have to have something randomly stuck on the dash, or window

Thanks for the reply, may take a trip to Halfords and see if there's one in stock for me to have a look at.

Don't need an iPod holder as it will sit tucked away in the glovebox, fully controlled from the head unit
