Lost Communication With Body Control Module

Featured Replies

I have a focus 2.0 TDCI 57 Reg, i have been noticing that on occasions i cannot get into the car. When this happens i have no outside temperature and my heated front window doesn't work, normally after about 2 minutes it all comes back. Today it started to get worse and the indicators where not displaying that they where working and all of the above. Can anyone advise if they have had this problem and how they resolved it.

Symptoms:

No central locking, no outside temperature gauge, no heated front window, indicator and hazards displays not working (the indicators do work though)

I have had it on a machines and the error was: lost communication with body control module

I found a post that said it was the wires connecting the fuse box inside the car. I push on them all and it seems to have worked.

Hi, The fuse/Gem module is part removed and pulled around when the pollen filter is changed and this can cause a back connection on some of the connectors. I recommend disconnecting and refitting the two connectors on the underside of the fuse box/GEM module and seeing if that helps. If not then disconnect and reconnect all connectors and test, you will need a radio code to do this.

Always worth checking that there is no wiring trapped behind the fuse box bracket too as this is very common when refitting the bracket too.

hope this helps
