Please could i get advice, my 08 fiesta 1.25 mk 6 the gearstick is very stiff . it goes into gear ok sometimes it seems fine then it is very stiff could anyone help.

    OK, Ive done a bit of research for you. First question, does it get stiff or stiffer once the car has warmed up?

    If it does, it could well be a bent selector bar in the gearbox. As it warms up it expands and becomes more problematic.

    2nd question I suppose is when cold is it stiffer and does it ease up when warm? If so it could just be the cold weather you are experiencing up North, which can have the effect of making the gear oil feel like treacle.

    hi, It maybe that the clutch isn't clearing properly which can make it hard to select the gear, This is usely caused be rust on the input shaft.
