Featured Replies

hiya all

we have a ford focus 1.6 1999

last week after a night of heavy thick fog my hubby started the car in the morning drove to my nans which is about 10 minute away stopped the car for a few minutes and then tryed to restart it took a few minutes for it to eventually start, he got back home turned it off tryed again and the same thing happened again.

We have not had a problem since but yesterday he went to work in it its absolutlely freezing here with heavy winds etc it takes him about 20 minutes to get to work he left it on the car park all day and when he tryed to start it to come home it wouldnt start so he had to leave it at work.

today he tryed to jump start it but still wont.

there is a spark from the plug so hes been told it wont be crankshaft sensor . Any Ideas ??

Hi and wlecome to FOC

First thing i would check is Fuel , Pump may have failed / blocked

  • 5 months later...

If its the pump, often they will pop the fuse - Replace the fuse and it'll pop again - Easiest way to tell whether it definately is the pump, though this may not be happening - Dependant on fault, thats just past experience

  • 5 weeks later...
