Interior "map-Light" Bulb?

Featured Replies

Here is a little list and the introduction.

I bought the car with a blown interior light, simple enough, went down the road and bought a new one.

All is fine, the light is off when car is locked, unlock the car, light comes on. ignition on, light goes out. Simple..

Until recently I have bought (Not yet fitted) some LED lights to use as interior lighting in the foot-wells and run one into my unlit boot. Part of this lighting upgrade im doing involved buying a new LED Festoon bulb for the centre console light. I thought you can't go wrong but obviously you can..

This new LED light never FULLY turns off, It follows the precedures the previous bulb did, although when ignition is on, driving or all off, car is locked there is still a glow coming from the bulb. Admitted it is a fraction of what brightness to when the car is unlocked but why is it still on.

My question is really, Is there a technical or more advanced bulb I need to fit rather than this 8LED bulb that I have to manually turn off?

If not then its back to the old bulb which blows the money spent on upgrading my lighting because my plans are to run the foot-well strips off of the Interior light fixing.

Any suggestions, hints or sale links please fire away. Thanks.

The problem is the resistance of the LED's is to low soldering in a resitor should cure the problem, sorry cant tell you the value to use
