Mk1 Focus 99 Main Bearings + Engine Info Needed

Featured Replies

Hi there, its only a question about 1.6 zetec engine variants....

The big end has gone on my 99 focus 1.6 and im unsure as to replace the bearings or just swap it out for a replacement engine?

I know by replacing the big end shells it will be okay for the near future but might not be a long term soloution. i might have to do it though until i can afford an engine and pop that in.

Has anyone just done the big end shells and got away with it.

So my main question. do the engines ie black top Zetec 1.6 se and silver top s swap like for like. some people have said to me ALL 1.6 zetec's are the same is this the case? (i dont think it is)

Thanks for any advise
