Wiring In Auto Fold Mirrors - Help With Disconnecting

Featured Replies

Wondering if anyone can help here?

I have a faulty auto fold mirror on a 2007 fiesta and it has been suggested to me it might be possible to disconnect the wire or wires that control the folding function but still leave the rest connected so that the mirror is still heated and will adjust.

The group of wires is the one that is behind the plastic cover inside the car that plugs into the control unit - I perhaps am not using the correct terms - could it be the wiring loom??

Any advice on if this is possible it would be much appreciated.

I had a problem with my mirrors making a loud clicking noise when I turned off the ignition. I removed Fuse 8 @ 7.5 amp fuse from the fusebox, located behind the glovebox and this disconnected power to the mirror motors and solved my problem. I prefer it this way because its an extra that I don't really need.. This has no effect on the heating element which warms the mirrors when the rear window heating element is turned on.
