Ford Fiesta 1.25 04 Plate Wheel Bearing Or Other???

Featured Replies

Hi

I have had this nice little car sometime now but the 'Road noise' seems to be getting louder now and seems nearside front

I asked a garage who took it for a spin and said he thought it maybe gearbox related! Kerching!

But I dont see it myself cos @ 60 and out of gear same noise!

Anyone had similar please?

Could be driveshaft bearing wouldnt be the first time I have seen it.

My 58 plate Mk 6 Fiesta has had a problem similar to this too. A low rumbling noise will appear between 20 and 30 mph both on gentle acceleration and decelleration. Over this speed nothing can be heard and the car runs perfectly otherwise. The noise will still be there if the car is put into neutral. A garage has ruled out any failing wheel bearings and the tyres are not unevenly worn to create "Tyre Rumble" The gearbox oil level has been checked and a "gearbox" problem has been diagnosed. The car has covered 22K. Since I know the wheel bearings are ok it's something I could possibly live with (turn the radio up lol) But if it can be diagnosed as a fairly cost effective repair for a quiter run then I might consider having it done.

Could be an out of shape tyre, try swapping it with the same side rear wheel and see if the noise moves

I have a similar issue with my mk6.Thought it might be brake related?discs or pads.It got a advisory on the mot for fluctuating brakes so thinking it could be related?

Going to whip the wheels off at some point and have a look.
