Mk6 Fiesta 2008. Engine Cuts Out On Idle

Featured Replies

Hi all, I'm new to this site apologies if I have posted this in wrong place.

Basically after some help.

My fiesta 2008 mk6 1.25 30,000 miles well less than.

When approaching junctions in neutral. Or generally just idling the car it will cut out. This dosnt happen for the first 10min but after that happens all the time. The car will 'search' for revs I.e. will drop to like 200 chase bk up to 1100 go bk down and eventually cut out. I have owned for a year and has happened since I've had it. It was my brothers car before and had happened since he brought it. When he first got it he tried to get it sorted and took to ford garages and mechanics who were unable to diagnose. The engine seems strong and there are no known faults apart from the air con compressor that apparently has a crack in it. If anyone can give me an idea of what to try I'd appreciate it. I'm fairly technical once pointed in the right direction ;) .

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Lester :)
