Changing The Cd Player

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I'm sure there are probably posts out there already about this topic, but wanted to ask this separately as I am attempting to replace the standard Sony 6000 cd player as such:

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/$%28KGrHqEOKisE4nfCWvWBBOMd6BqUBg~~0_35.JPG

and would like to replace it with something like this:

http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Sony-XAV-63-Double-Din-Multimedia-Head-Unit-6-1-Touchscreen-Brand-New-/160819347313?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item2571947f71

I have a few questions regarding this. Firstly, is it possible to replace the unit and will it fit? Don't want to buy it and then realise it's impossible to replace it!!

Secondly, how difficult is it to replace the CD player in the 2008 Focus before facelift? Would I be able to do it on my own or would I need to seek help of a professional?

Lastly, would I need to purchase any additional items such as wiring or plastic fascia in order to make this fit perfectly?

Cheers for all your help guys! :) :)
