last week i fitted a new front grill on my focus 09 and today went to open the bonnet but it wont open i cant understand why as the key barrel is the orignal that just clips in the back of the new grill is there a way of opening the bonnet without using the key

give the barrel plenty of wd40 or ptfe spray, might help

are you sure key is going fully into barrel

try another key, that might be slightly less worn, occasionally, ive had a new basic key, cut, just for opening the bonnet

There is a very good thread on here somewhere explaining how to fix this, I just can't find it just now. On my playbook just now and it's a bit fiddly for searching. When I get access to a computer I'll have a proper look for you.
