need to replace my engine my one blue smoke burning oil its a 2001 mk3 1.8 can i put a 1.8 from a 2005 in and is it a strait swap

why not sort the burning oil issue? if its a mk1,dont mean to be funny but is it worth another engine?

ah sorry.just saw mondeo mk1 under your name

hi no theres different engines theres the sci and sfi the sfi is the silver alloy cam cover the sci has the black plastic cover so the chances are the connections are different i was also told that the mountings are different to.however i know sum1 put a 2ltr in there 1.8 mondy with no change to anythink hope this helps
