New Fiesta: Front passenger speakers making ticking kind of sound and speakers generally hissing?

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a new fiesta titanium, had it since november and the speakers are starting to sound funny, mainly making a hissing or fizzing sounds, and the from left passenger speaker is making a ticking noise when music is playing! only have it on level 12 - 16 and its making these noises....

any help to solve the issue would help...

will book it into ford but not sure how to describe it the problem with out them listening to it...

thanks again!

20!!!!! jesus!

I listen to the radio and normal music at 8-10 then if im in the mood i got to 15 max!!

Silly question but have you got anything in your door pockets? only I had a terrible noise coming from my drivers door speaker then it stopped and started happeningon the passenger one, then I realised I had a de icer spray in the pocket which I had transfered from the drivers to passenger, removed it out and the noise stopped, so must have been vibration lol, I normally have mine on between 18-23 depends if the kids are in the car or not lol.

wow, 18-23, I dread to think how much distortion there might be.

These people are !Removed! deaf Nipz :D

I didn't even realise it went up to 23.

Most of the time mine's on 6-8 depending on radio stations and some of the discs I've ripped are loud enough on 5!!

Werd. :D

And so much for running the speakers in. On my Prius it's up to 15 on radio and CD or 40+ on Aux In. Thankfully the car returns the volume automatically to around 15 when I remove the aux player otherwise a radio on 40+ would blow the windows out.

lol i think i am deaf, ive been listening to an ipod every day since they came out and never put it down... so i blame that... i have every thing up loud..

the fiesta goes up to 30 i think!

well its booked in with ford now for april, and im getting new speakers put in so a good result... also going to a sounds shop in crayford to get my car fitted with a sub maybe or something else not sure yet, but my friends have more of the idea than me...

I have my ipod playing through the aux so thats probably why I have it on 23 etc but there again I love to hear my 80s hits loud with no kids around its the only time I can relive my youth.

Are you sure it's the speakers and not just titinus. ;)

:D

I have a wide mix of 80's in my car, plenty of Heaven 17, Ultravox, OMD, Bronski Beat, beats half of the rubbish you hear these days.

Last weekend I brought Virgin british hit singles book, its huge and I am slowly working through it and adding the songs to my ipod - so many I had forgotten about lol.

Now then deaf people, somethin I did today sparked me to revive this thread.

My stereo under performed for me when listening to it recently (i.e. hardly any bass and a bit tinny) and vol 13 was not making things vibrate when my ipod was hooked up, anyway this morning in traffic - it got to me, so i delved in to the menus, and solved it!

DSP Equalizer was on but set for Voice - so set it to Rock or POP and the difference is monumental, (with bass mid and treble set accordingly. [not sure how it got altetred]

Perhaps some of you need to check your set up's to this end if you have your volume cranked to 16-20? Just a thought

BTW did you ever solve your vibe problem johnny?

That's crazy, check the graphic eq post out, it remembers different eq levels for each audio source!
