Hi Guys,

Please Help!!!!!!

I have a Ford Galaxy 2002 51 plate 1.9TDI 115BHP

Problem Started with the engine not revving over 2800rpm and on occasions when it was revved to 2800rpm acceleration would go flat and the car would struggle to gather speed almost as if it was running out of derv. If I turned the engine off and back on, then drove off it would be fine until I revved to 2800rpm again. It would also do this on occasions when the car was being driven at any/low revs

The problem then got worst every time I drove the vehicle was flat on acceleration all the time.

I changed the air flow meter, this made a difference to the acceleration and was no longer flat all the time and the engine will rev over 2800rpm and some times the engine will still loose power once reved to 2800rpm

I have also noticed that when this problem is giving me grief and running ok the vehicle is slow on the uptake until 2000-2200rpm the turbo kicks in and I get a bit of black smoke.

I have replaced the fuel filter and valve on the filter, A garage has put the fault reader on and this has shown as no faults. There are no dash lights lit up.

The garage sugested that i disconnect the airflow meter and drive without it for a short distance power was still flat. I disconnected the battery and reconnected the airflow meter but the problem still exists.

Can any body please help???

it could be an exhaust lockage problem like a collapsed cat
