Mondeo Mark Iv (57 Plate) Driver's Seat Electric Height Adjustment Motor

Featured Replies

The electric motor has broken on my mondeo driver's seat height adjuster. The main dealer has advised that I can't replace the motor only but need a new seat base as well at an eye watering cost of £860!!!

Should I contemplate a used spare motor from a breaker's yard? Problem is I am not sure if I attempt to fit it myself (assuming I can get my hands on one) that there are issues with connections to the airbags and whether the engine management system will recognise the new (but used) part!! Has anyone else suffered a similar problem?

i do not know if the mk4 is the same as the mk3 but it was common for the plastic cogs and not the motor that used to break, so you could check this before getting a new motor.
