Indicator Problems

Featured Replies

Have a 2006 Focus 1.6 LX which has developed indicator problems!

The O/S rear indicator as packed up ! Double checked the bulbs (swapping for one I know works) with no luck, Tested the bulb holder which is dead (but the rest of the cluster works fine, as does everything else electrical on the car)

Checked the usual stuff.... fuses etc...

Not new to Fords but quite new to the Focus, I have heard my indicator fault is quite common ?

Has anybody had the same fault ? or can offer some help to find the problem?

Regards

Gav Wass

It may well be corrosion on the bulb holder.

Spray with WD40 and rub the contacts with the graphite tip of a pencil.

if you can, you may wish to check the wires themselves (pins in the adapter) and see if you can get a signal detected on the wire. It is most likely the holder, but if you can test the wires themselves, it can guarantee it!
