Ford Ka Crossmember

I have a big dint in my crossmember and it is welded on im wondering if i drill the crossmember off would it be okay to bolt a new one back on or would it have to be welded?

post a piccy of it up so we can see the damage. i think if you drill it off and bolt a new one on it should be ok but check with a mot testing station but a small local garage that does a mot not frauds that way you wont waste your time doing it if its not acceptible.

i recon it's hit a tow bar or similar and if it's not causing any problem i would leave it alone. these parts are up to the 2000 models i think,
