replacing lower wishbone

Featured Replies

Can anyone help

After repacing both lower wishbones i found that the driveshafts dont turn as they should,i replaced one wishbone at a time, after finding this problem i read the section on driveshaft, the chapter says if both driveshafts are removed at the same time the differential gear must be retained with a dowl, otherwise the gear can drop to the bottom of housing, however i have not removed driveshaft just the wishbone altho i did disterb the shafts a little, please can anyone get my wheels turning HELP.

youve more than likely disturbed the cv joints which are full of bearings and if one has fell out that would cause the symptoms youve mentioned now the question is which cv joint is it thats causing the problem ?? you will have to disconnect the bottom ball joint one at a time and rotate the disc by hand the shaft thats difficult to turn will be the one to concentrate on when you find which one it is you will have to remove the cv boot take the joint off the shaft for further inspection so be prepaired to get a bit messy as its full of grease let me know how you get on if you req any further ??
