how to get rid of rust

Featured Replies

hi ive got a ford fiesta mk5 ive noiced a bit of rust on the bottom corner of the doors both sides just wondering how to get rid and whats the best stuff to sort it cheers

Use a chainsaw and an elephants tusk for best results!

Jusk kidding, please ignore...

Best thing to do will be to grind the patch of rust back and then treat with rust proofing, or red oxide. Then prime and spray in matching colour, and laquer.

lol tried that one already :D

Yea as long as you totally get rid of the rust, if it has gone deeper you will need to remove it and maybe fill it with filler to smooth it off.

ok thanks for that it must be a ford thing with the rust cant understand i had a 18 year old clio and that had not one tiny bit of rust lol

yer just sand it if its only on the paint work and fill it untill u get it level and respray ive jst had to do it lol

Once the rust sets in, you'll never shift it, the only cure then is new panels.

( it will come back eventually otherwise )
