Hello,

Man at Superchips told me, via email:

"Unfortunately we do not offer a modification by any method for this model, its engine management system is not compatible with our tuning methods."

Boo! Rubbish! What shall I do? I want more power without hassle and massive cost. I lack sufficient knowledge to undertake work myself so need pointing in the direction of those who can help...

Cheers

What car do you have il have a scout round mate

2.0 petrol 145ps duratec. Very modifiable but all seems to be very extreme and/or costly.

Bluefin do tune this engine in mk3's but not mk4's. They got an extra 11bhp for about £230...

That's the sort of thing that's suit my budget you see...

I know what you means il have a scout round now and will get back to you

Because of the car you have I guess it's the 2.0L 16v (no turbo) there is no other option but a dyno and custom remap and loads of parts to get a descentish amount of power. Just a remap will give you as you said just a small amount of power but that's all you can get if you have a small budget.

Griffo,

Thanks very much. There are sights which will raise the duratec he way beyond its original - to way over double in fact - but they cost serious bucks (which is fair enough!).

Still since I originally started looking my wallet has taken a few unexpected hits so it's on the wish list for now...

Cheers for doing the research though :0)

I'm thinking of getting a bluefin chip.. Will this be chanced out buy getting a remap or is it best to get this done before a remap?? :/

James

I know how you feel at the moment (no money) but I will still keep on the look out for a bluefin tune when ever one is released.

Great news James,

I have found a bluefin for your car on pumaspeed.com.

Thanks so much for looking.

Unfortunately that's for a mk3 mondeo and NOT the mk4 mondeo!

Really frustrating given it's the same engine but it is not the same engine management etc...

Cheers

Oh sorry I had a hunch though it wasn't the right one il still keep a look out
