Thermostat Replacement Guide...

Featured Replies

2001 2l 130 euro 3.

First off, where is the thermostat located? I thought i was getting used to this engine until someone pointed out it had a part on it that meant it was an 'euro3'...

Where would the tstat be located on this, and is there any guides on replacing that are specific to this model?

Thanks in advance.

Cant say I have seen any guides submitted by members of this forum for replacement...

Unfortunately I am not familiar so couldnt advise but hopefully someone can!

Hi Paul

My 1st post here!!

I did one on a 2003 2.0 tdci a few years ago it was at the front of the engine under the egr valve. be aware though there is 2 of them one for the engine and one for the oil cooler or something like that. Any way I digress, I would advise you to get the genuine part from the Stealers as they are a slightly odd shape and the aftermarket ones don't quite fit properly cant remeber the reason why now think it was a little nipple for locating it the correct way round if memory serves correctly. Not too bad a job to do and if you keep the pipes above the engine as soon as you disconnect them you will only have to top up the coolant as opposed to replacing the lot unless that is your intention! The Haynes manual was a great help to me when I did mine. Hope this helps!!!

Paul

check out ford wiki there is instructions on there to change the thermostat and oil cooler stat! with piccies

Good Result Paul!
