Focus Mk2.5 Mod Ideas?

Featured Replies

I am after some ideas to mod my focus titanium 1.6 petrol. I have already changed all the interior lights to blue. I have not added extras like rear footwells if anyone knows how to do these I'd appreciate the knowledge. Any nice mods for the exterior?

All comments welcome.

Cheers.

Karl

I've lowered my car already by about 35-40mm. Would 18inch fit. I've currently got 16s on there.

18's with either 35/40 profile would fit, then maybe camber adjust with geometry allignment......

Haha. Lenny you make me laugh.

That does look really good with 18s though.

What is the camber adjustments all about? Is it necessary?

because you have already messed with the oem suspension by fitting aftermarket springs/shocks etc... you need it all lining up so your car sits on the road how it should... once it has been done the driveablilty will be brilliant, and cornering a total difference... it will also grip the road like glue....

Yes the camber adjustment is required mate,

When you lower the car springs for example 40mm you only need rear camber adjustment bolts cost under 30 pounds for eibach ones and sold as a pair.

If lowering on coil overs you need both front tower strut camber and caster adjustment aswell as rear.

When lowering the car squats much like a big foot standing on the roof

The face of the wheel begins to face upwards which is known as "negative camber" this causes excessive wear on the inside section of the tyre.

By correcting camber it keeps the full surface of the tyres on the road.

Better grip on cornering and tyres last longer.

Lol. I'm actually crying with laughter. I wish it was as easy and cheap as that.

Would it be easy for me to fit the camber adjusters myself or do you need a reputable garage for something like this!

lol boom over night.

Does say miracle grow ALL PURPOSE

A garage would need to cut off the fixed camber bolt and fit the adjustable.

Followed by laser tracking alignment to correct the angle of the wheels after lowering, you will be glad you did it. Handles very well.

That's great. Thanks for that. Will be getting some of them on pay day. I should be able to talk the Mrs round as its going to make the tyres last longer. Spend money to save money. :)
