Door Will Not Open

Featured Replies

Hi, I am new to the forums so hopefully this works

I have a 2005 3 door Ford Fiesta and the passengers door is stuck closed.

The inside and outside handles do not release the lock, I fitted a new window regulator about 3 weeks ago and everything worked 100% until yesterday when the outside handle felt loose and would not open the door, the inside one worked but once the door was closed none of the handles worked.

I need to be able to open the door to remove the inside trim / door card to get access at the lock and see what the problem may be.

Is there any way to open the door without braking or busting anything?

Any advise would be gratefully received

Thanks

to be honest, if neither inside or out are opening the door, then your going to have to have some damage I am afraid...

Best thing to do is take it to a garage, they might have methods that cannot be shared on the open forums!

Before breaking anything :-

  • Fully old down the back seats.
  • Slide the passenger seat fully forward and unbolt it from the rear only.
  • Recline the passenger seat about 2/3rds the way back.
  • Slide the passenger seat as far back as possible.
  • Unbolt the passenger seat at the front end, lift it up and unlug the seat wiring.
  • Now slide the passenger into the boot.

You may now have enough access to the bottom of the passenger door card to remove the lower screws from the door card.

Thanks

I'll try that next weekend when I get a bit of free time.
