Recommended Posts

Allo, reverse light packed in a few days ago. Opend it up today and switched bulb and still Nothing. What could be wrong? electrical problem?

Check Fuses. Not sure which fusebox its in, probably the aux fuse box in the engine bay. Sometimes when bulbs go it takes the fuse out as well

how odd... Is the earth connected? It might have been knocked in the boot and come loose...

Yup, just had a look in the boot, its still connected no rust/wear etc looks fine. Im getting my hands on a multi-metre in a bit not sure how to use it though haha :>

I'm not sure if reverse lights are part of the MOT, i dont think they are, so you should be ok going forward. Maybe get an advisory at mot but shouldnt fail. not 100% on this though...

Rite, Just cut the Wires leading to the Reverse switch. Fused them together and turned power on. Suppirse supprise it works......

But its a new reverse light switch... But, when i took the old one off (and i had the new on off today) there was some sort of lubricant/oil on the preassure switch part? this suposed to be there, or is the Switch supposed to be Bone dry?

Thanks

Yupieee, i fixed it. I dont have a clue what was wrong, But even the reverse switch which i got orderd specific for my make/model was wrong so had to do some power re-wireing (if u you me). PLugged the switch in, nothing. "kicks wheels", so had 1 more go. put it in reverse then put the switch in and it worked? what the... lol. But yay!
