What is the longest you have ever needed to wait for a part to come in. My brother has a Motorbike and has been waiting 3 weeks tomorrow for an alternator to come in. He took his bike to the Yamaha dealer (he has a Yamaha bike) they said should take 2 -3 days.

My farther in law works at ford parts place longest I have had to wait is 2 days for anything I have asked for.

Is this normal for bikes

    Yup it's pretty normal for certain bike parts, probably down to them not being stocked in this country.

    Longest I have waited is about a week for car parts
