Warning Light Will It Fail Mot

Ford focus mk2 tdci 2l

Blanked off egr valve I now get error code p0490 so engine light is on. Car runs better now no hesitation and such. But will it fail a mot with this error code?

    Engine management light has been on in my dunger for about 2 years.... Never even been questioned at MOT time. I don't think the light it comes into it.

    If it still passes the emissions test, I'd say you'll be fine.

    Like I said, mine has never been an issue.

    Latest regulations state that the presence of any warning lights on the dashboard will result in a failure of the MOT.

    Specifically if they relate to the safety features of cars, but this can also include the EML if the errors relate to a system such as the exhaust systems.

    Eml doesn't come into the test , I would personally pass and advise.

    If it does fail would I just be able to clear the code and let them retest it. Ie just look at the dash and no light or will they investigate why it is on and see the plate

    Any warning light regarding safety features is a fail, such as seatbelt. EML etc are not apart of the MOT
