Ford Fiesta Fd6006 Cd/radio Replacement

Featured Replies

We have a 2004 Fiesta Zetec 1.4 diesel with a CD/radio unit FD6006 6 CD changer which has developed a fault in the on/off volume button. (Gradually got harder and harder to turn it on and off and has now fallen off due to fairly vigorous pressing!)

I have managed to remove the radio but am now trying to find a replacement. There don't seem to be many second hand FD6006's about but there do seem to be plenty of the 4500 models which I believe are the single CD version.

From pictures I have seen on the web, the unit appears to be exactly the same (triple dash) with the same plug connection on the back. The only difference is that our unit has an extra plug connection on the back which is not there for the 4500.

My question is, will the 4500 fit in to the car with the single plug connection? (Hopefully the other plug is something to do with the disc changer?)

Any help or advice would be gratefully received.

Many Thanks.
