Cluster Going Into Test

Featured Replies

not sure if this is the right place for this.

i have 53 ford focus tdci. when you turn the egnition the dash says test then goes off. and the back light does not work with my headlights on.

any help please.

Hi Carl,

with the test, it sounds like the reset button might be stuck on the stalk, this is what triggers the self diagnostic screen that you are seeing.

As for the lights, have you checked the bulbs and holder to ensure all work correctly?

Thanks for the reply.

Thats what i thought as you can not toggle through the tests. Is this an easy fix as i will have to strip the cluster out to try and see. Is the switch easy to check/repair?

Easiest answer would be to try disconnect the wiring from the stalk and look to replace the stalk
