I'm looking to change the oil in my gearbox. What would you recommend as a cheap and cheerful solution and is there anywhere in specific you would recommend I buy it?

    I would get a price from your local motor factors. Check euro car parts too.

    Halfords is around £10 a litre or £8 if you can get hold of a trade card.

    What would you recommend?

    From a little bit of research I heard Motorcraft is the manufacturer for Ford Fluid. However from the dealer it's £23/ltr which seems a bit steep when I need just over 2 litres i.e. 3 bottles.

    I've heard Castrol are okay but I'm not sure which one will meet the requirements of Ford which I think for a 1.6 Petrol 5 Speed box is WSD M2C200C.
