stevedunners
Hi all. I have a 2008 focus titanium and when I try to put my iPhone through the aux socket I get a terrible sound quality. I've change the socket itself but still the same poor sound. Has anyone any ideas on what to do next or alternative input options. Cheers. karlos1987
Have you tried a different lead? Do they do different quality leads? I've personally never had a problem with my aux. Sent from my C5303 using Ford OC mobile app
stevedunners
I've tried different leads but the same result. Wondering if it's a wiring problem between the aux and head unit. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
Stoney871
You say you've changed the socket? Is it clipped in tightly? Usually poor sound is due to the headspacing between the contacts inside the aux socket and the faceplate changing which causes the contacts to go out of alignment with the contacts on the 3.5 jack. stevedunners
I'll check it tomorrow. The sound is crackly and distorted if that helps. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
stevedunners
I've taken the aux apart and tried to get it working no joy - I think the next step will be to take the HU out. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
Stoney871
You may well find the cable has come loose or the cable itself is nacked.
mgaking
Are you turning the volume up too high on the iPhone?
stevedunners
Tried turning the volume down on the phone and it's not that. I'll defo be having to look at the HU. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
