2.0 Duratorq Strange Clicks When Switching Off Ignition

Featured Replies

During past few days I've noticed this sound - clicks (check the YT video below) after turning the ignition off. Firstly this sound occurs less frequently every 10... then every 5 .... till today where this ticks are present almost every time I turn off the car. The sound is like the relay - solenoid is turned off on off on...

And it happens 30 to 40 sec after I stop the car, firstly I thought it was the steering wheel lock (mine C-max is key-less) and the clicks are almost the same as it is the lock on the steering wheel when I enter the vehicle.

I've read that there can be a EGR valve cleaning mode or aircon vents closing, but I doubt that this could be my problem.

Any idea or help appreciated.

Thanks Sash
