C-Max Recall

Featured Replies

Just received a letter from ford recalling the focus / c-max for corrosion on the control module of the cooling fan assembly.

Anyone else had this?post-48633-140601204049_thumb.jpg

Only 2004-2006, within the VIN numbers range specified on the above vosa info. I expect there are still a fair few cars about from back then.

Cheers for the info, I must be one of the unlucky ones

Looks at this this way - you get something new fitted to your car for free!

That's true, just a pain in the backside booking it in around work

Focus C-Max 2004 1.6 TDCI Zetec

definitely is, but to be fair, even getting an old car a new free fix is awesome. but if it stops the car burning out and doing so in spectacular fashion, its worth a bit of inconvenience!

I have a 2004 c max and not yet got one of those letters.

Is your VIN number within the range given in the vosa link I posted?

Good question. I'll check when back on Friday as I drive a company car during the week lol.

Phoned Ford today, I've got to take it in on Saturday for them to have a look at it ( prob to fob off) and go from there. I'll keep you all updated.

Have to be honest, its the first time I have ever heard of any manufacturer recalling a ten year old car for a fault!

Hats off to Ford there!

Hi

I received the same recall letter........it went in to my local ford dealer on Saturday for the work to be done.......picked it up, thought it felt a little "stuttery", but i didn't think anything of it. Went to go out in it on Saturday night and the Engine Management Light came on straight away, it had been fine prior to going in to the dealer.....so rang the Ford dealer on Sunday, as needed the car for work today, and at 7 months pregnant, I didn't fancy a 25 mile trip up the motorway to work in it today, for something to go wrong!! Husband took it back to the dealer yesterday and collected a lovely little fiesta!!! The dealer was supposed to get back to me this morning.......still waiting!!!

Has anyone else had any problems after the recall work?

I got mine done on Saturday but the car has been fine.

Hope you get yours sorted soon

probably left a sensor disconnected, critical enough to bring the light, but not critical enough to kill the car.

Give them a call and demand an update!
